Trauma-Informed Care for Your Challenging Seasons

Are you struggling through a difficult season in your life?  Feeling stuck, unhappy, anxious or lost? We all experience difficult seasons, especially when we are dealing with things like

  • The loss of a loved one
  • Coping with a divorce and coparenting
  • A move to a new area
  • A job change
  • Coping with difficult family relationships
  • Caretaking for children, grandchildren and/or aging parents
  • Maintaining relationships with teen and young adult children
  • Chronic health problems
  • Struggles with anxiety, depression
  • Wondering about our identity and purpose in life

Some difficult seasons are brief. Others seem to last for a very long time. The one thing we all seem to agree on is that we are ready for a change.

This may be a good time to consider seeking help from a psychotherapist. We can work together to approach this particular difficult season with mindful curiosity. We can explore your own personal history and values for clues about how to move forward in making positive change that feels right for you.

Sometimes this involves learning new skills, such as how to regulate our emotions or communicate more effectively. Other times it may involve learning to set boundaries, improve self-care or attend to unresolved past trauma.

Together we can work to find out what is needed for you to move through this season and forward to the next. Therapy is a collaborative process, however ultimately you will need to decide upon and create the change you are seeking. Growth is necessary. It can be awkward and sometimes challenging. That is ok. Together we can find ways for you to become more confident moving through your own changing seasons.

I am currently accepting self-pay clients and clients with Aetna, Optum, United Healthcare, UMR and Blue Cross Blue Shield.
